Hospital Policy

Appointment Policy

You may call 530-622-8295 to schedule an appointment. However, anyone who presents to the clinic with an animal requiring emergency care receives priority over clients with scheduled appointments. See more emergency information.

Patient Arrival Policy

Please inform our staff before bringing animals with signs of respiratory infections (i.e. coughing or sneezing) or gastrointestinal infections (i.e., vomiting or diarrhea) into the waiting or exam areas.  We will take any animal that might have a contagious respiratory or gastrointestinal illness to a separate area for evaluation and treatment, as appropriate.  This helps prevent spreading serious illnesses to other pets.  Thank you.

Payment Policy

Payment is due at the time that services are provided. We accept Visa, MasterCard, CareCredit, and cash. We accept personal checks provided they clear electronic authorization.

California law requires a doctor/client/patient relationship to be established in order for medications to be prescribed, and this specifically means your pet must be examined at least once a year for the doctor/client/patient relationship to exist.

With respect to pharmacies, the veterinarians at Missouri Flat Pet Clinic follow the recommendations of the veterinary staff advisers for the CVMA (California Veterinary Medical Association).  Because there are potential problems related with the transport and storage of medications, the source of the products, and the uncertain legal status of some pharmacies, Dr Robinson and his colleagues only interact with pharmacies with whom they have an established working relationship.  If a client chooses not to fill a prescription at Missouri Flat Pet Clinic (or one of the local pharmacies with which Dr. Robinson and his colleagues already have an established working relationship), the client will be given a prescription to take or send to the pharmacy of their choosing (including out of state internet-based pharmacies such as PetMeds).
